About Virginia Clinical Research, Inc.
Directed by Dr. David Pariser and Dr. Robert Pariser, both Board Certified Dermatologists, and experienced clinical researchers. Virginia Clinical Research, Inc. has been conducting clinical trials since 1981. We are a physician owned and professionally managed independent research company, which is associated with a dermatology practice and dermatology resident training program in Southeastern Virginia. We draw on a population of 1.2 million people and have treated over 300,000 patients in our practice, many of whom contribute to our database of volunteers for clinical trials.
In the last 5 years alone, over 200 clinical trials have been completed. A variety of conditions are studied including:

We are staffed by five full-time experienced coordinators, including three certified clinical research coordinators, a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse, and a medical doctor research fellow. Our staff is dedicated to performing clinical research with the highest quality possible, both personally and professionally. We pride ourselves in completing each project in a timely manner, and actively recruit volunteers to meet our sponsor's needs and expectations.
Clinical research represents a fundamental element of modern medicine. The drugs and or devices being tested in these trials have the potential to help millions of people. Continual pursuit of new and innovative treatments is vital to the future of medical care. In addition to the evaluation of efficacy, patient safety and protection are of the utmost importance in all aspects of our clinical research. Our priorities lie in the responsibilities to our patients.
Participation on the part of the patient is always free. Volunteers receive medical evaluations, laboratory testing, and study treatments at no cost to them. Often there is financial compensation for volunteers who complete all or even part of the programs. We do not contract with insurance companies, therefore, insurance coverage is not required. In addition to free evaluation and treatment, participation also provides the opportunity to use new therapies that patients might not otherwise have access to.
